Tapping technique to concur cravings

Was channel surfing and I saw this show on TLC. It was talking about how to concur cravings...

I have cravings for chocolate sometimes :p.... I will see if this technique works :p

Here is the tapping sequence that appears on the video if you would like to
read through it first:

This technique is from Thought Field
Therapy, or TFT, an extraordinary set of techniques created by Dr. Roger
Callaghan.

The Tapping Technique

1. I want you get the
biggest desire for a food that you can right now. If you don’t have a big
enough craving, put this technique to one side and come back to it when you’re
really feeling it.

2. Focus on this craving for a moment, and when
you’ve thought of that I’d like you to rate your desire for a food on a scale of
1-10, with 1 being the lowest and 10 the highest. This is important,
because in a moment we want to know how much you’ve reduced it.

3.
On a scale of 1- 10, how strong is your craving? Remember, if you’re not really
craving a bite (i.e. your craving is not at least a 7), come back to this
technique later.

4. Now take two fingers of either hand and tap
about ten times under your collarbone while you continue to think about
eating.

5. Now tap under your eye ten times.

6. Now
tap under your collarbone again.

7. Place your other hand in front
of you and tap on the back of it between your ring finger and your little
finger. Continue to think about your desire for food as you
do this and each of the steps which follow:

Close your eyes and
open them.
Keep your head still, keep tapping and look down to
the right then down to the left.
Keep tapping and rotate your eyes round 360
degrees clockwise, and now 360 degrees anti-clockwise.

Remember to
keep thinking about the food you were craving as you do
this!

Now hum the first few lines of ‘Happy Birthday’ out
loud.
Count out loud from 1 to 5.
Once again hum the first few
lines of ‘Happy Birthday’ out loud.

8. Stop and check – on a
scale from 1 to 10, what number is your craving at now?

If it hasn’t completely gone yet, just repeat this sequence again until it does.

moving to Asia

Found an interesting piece on Yahoo Finance about a smart investor who's moving his family to Singapore. I guess he sees US going down hill or flat, and Asia is the way to go. He trained his daughter to learn mandarin!

Even if you currently stuck in North American, there's still an investment opportunity, I will blog at stupidtrader.com

Canadian home prices

Just started searching around for a home again. Dec-Jan are generally slow months, so I expect the prices to be slightly lower and no bidding wars. However there are not too many good listings.

I also like to look at trends for prices. With US housing not doing so well and entering (or entered) recession, I wonder how long Canadian housing can keep up. If neighbour is in recession, Canada should probably be in one soon.

2007 year end report card. Happy 2008! (Part 1)

After a year of hard working trading and experimenting, I couldn't wait for my yearly statement to come out, so I went ahead and calculated my gains...

This year was a tremendous success compared to previous years. At least I have posted some gains! LOL. This year's gain is like 1.3+ months worth of pay cheque hahaha. Sad to say it's not enough to switch my day job yet.

At least the experience gain from experimenting with options, and training myself to think differently was priceless. My goal for the upcoming year is to be more patient, more disciplined, and double my earnings from 2007 (despite a really bad 2008 start).

Later on I will reviewing the rest of my 2007 resolutions and set my 2008 goals.

Another new site that I started is my trading blog - StupidTrader.com. Hope that it will "break even" in 2008 :).

Have a prosper 2008 my friends!

Poker

Last night I participated in Texas Holdem Poker for the 3rd time in my life, and I luckily pasted 2nd outta 9 people. I am sure luck was mostly part of it, but I also employ in one strategy... not to go for anything! I was almost folded in everything except when I know I might have a chance for something small. :p

And that was it, I lucked out placing 2nd kekeke

kelvinko.com is not kevinko.com

hahahaha, since the start of my website, I have noticed a lot of hits from Hong Kong through Yahoo searches. After some investigation, I found out the searches were meant a rich and famous tutor in Hong Kong - Kevin Ko. (Note, it's Kevin, not Kelvin).

Anyway, he has pretty funny interpretations on economic concepts. For example,

I read on of this interviews on magazines before. Not only is he a successful economics tutor in HK, he's also well invested in high value real estate. He's quite a smart guy :) Wish I can be like him. Maybe I should take out the "L" in my name eh?

Right Brain vs. Left Brain

THE Right Brain vs Left Brain test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?
If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.

Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.

LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses logic
detail oriented
facts rule
words and language
present and past
math and science
can comprehend
knowing
acknowledges
order/pattern perception
knows object name
reality based
forms strategies
practical
safe

RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses feeling
"big picture" oriented
imagination rules
symbols and images
present and future
philosophy & religion
can "get it" (i.e. meaning)
believes
appreciates
spatial perception
knows object function
fantasy based
presents possibilities
impetuous
risk taking

For me, I saw it as turning counter clockwise all the time. I couldn't focus to change direction. How about you?

Monetize your blog

I was reading a featured article last week on Ming Pao's magazine last week. It feature John Chow's website: http://www.johnchow.com/

In the article and his blog, John teaches people what he did to monetize his blog, and how and what he posts. He managed to turn a $300 profit a month to $12000+ a month today.

I never really thought about the power of advertising on my own website, so I just put on some basic google ad's. So far, it's making $100 for two years haha, just enough to cover my hosting expense.

Anyway, I will be adding more features to my site - RSS feed for my photo pages, my contents in my blog, comments and ratings, and of course, more ads :p. Come back often, and subscribe to my RSS feed, and post lot's of comments, I love to hear from you. Any questions, just ask me.
